2012年12月8日13时40分，哈萨克斯坦首都阿斯塔纳，中哈原油管道扩建和运行相关事宜政府间协议签署。仿佛是为等待这一刻的到来，22分钟后，北京，在昏迷18天后，为此呕心沥血、国内外多方奔走的中国石油天然气股份有限公司副总裁兼中亚地区协调组组长孙波的心脏停止了跳动。
At 13:40 on December 8, 2012, an intergovernmental agreement on the expansion and operation of the China-Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline was signed in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. 22 minutes later in Beijing, Sun Bo, the Vice President of China National Petroleum Corporation and head of the Central Asia Regional Coordination Group, had his last heartbeat after a 18-day coma, as if he was waiting for this moment, for which he had worked his heart out and traveled tirelessly at home and overseas.

Under the vast Gobi and the vast sky, along the ancient Silk Road, the Central Asian natural gas pipeline spans Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, and is connected to the second line of the West-East Natural Gas Pipeline. The huge pipeline is crawling eastward like a dragon, as if mourning for the hero and sobbing for the loyal soul. The Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC issued a notice posthumously, awarding Comrade Sun Bo the title of "National Outstanding Communist Party Member".
